It is the end of the Edo period.
A group of young people have gathered in the turbulent city of Kyoto.

They are the Mibu Roshigumi, a group of rogue soldiers known as the Miburo.
Living in these tumultuous times, they risk their lives to protect the peace.

The Miburo are joined by a kind-hearted boy named Nio, and through days of fighting together, they come to understand one another and deepen their bonds.

"In order to protect Kyoto, we must first abandon our comfort zone and move forward anew."
With a single word from Nio, the Miburo recruit new allies and begin to expand their organization.

Amid this, the presence of Serizawa Kamo, a man with more samurai pride than anyone else, gives his comrades hope, but also begins to create rifts.

Those who believe, those who doubt, and those who seek to kill.
As their unyielding beliefs clash, the story moves toward an evanescent assassination.
