Young Lubicchi and a man made of garbage, Poupelle, live among the thick smoke from the chimneys of his isolated town. Lubicchi yearns to see the "stars" and to learn the truth his father always told him about.

One year has passed since Poupelle of Chimney Town. On Halloween day, the town—now bustling with industry under a clear blue sky—is moving forward, and so is Lubicchi. Still carrying the loss of his beloved friend Poupelle, he tries to take the next step.

On the anniversary of that miraculous Halloween night, Lubicchi is lured by a mysterious mouse into an unknown world. There begins a fantastical new adventure filled with unexpected encounters, including a new companion and a host of quirky, unforgettable characters.
