A video game-loving shut-in, Satou Kazuma's life should've ended when he was hit by a truck, but through a twist in fate, he ends up reincarnating in another world--and dragging the goddess, Aqua, along with him.

"I'm going to enjoy the life of an adventurer that I've always fantasized about from RPGs! Time to be the hero!" But in spite of his enthusiasm, only trouble was waiting for Kazuma.

Namely, the troublemaking goddess, Aqua; The wildly dorky mage, Megumin; And the unrelentingly delusional lady knight, Darkness; He ends up forming a party with these potentially powerful, but incredibly unfortunate individuals, which leads to deep debt, being tried for treason, slaying the Demon King's generals, and occasionally dying (again).

Then, one day, the Crimson Demon girl Yun Yun says something that makes the entire group freeze up: "I want to have your babies, Kazuma!"

Upon hearing the details, it turns out that the Crimson Demon village that Megumin and Yunyun are from is facing a threat that could mean it's ending. Kazuma and his gang follow Yunyun, who returns to the Crimson Demon village intent on saving it... when they are faced with their greatest threat yet! What will become of the unremarkable adventurer Kazuma's life in another world?!

It seems as though the disturbance is over when another girl named Kaname shows up looking for Shuu. Her appearance signals the beginning of a new turn of events for Tetsu, Yuki, and Cenco.

The story begins when Ao opens a package that arrives at her doorstep. Inside the package is Gourai, a Frame Arms Girl: a small robot capable of independent movement. Gourai is a newly-developed prototype: a Frame Arms Girl equipped with an "Artificial Self," an advanced AI that gives her a personality. Ao is the only one that has activated her. Gourai begins to gather both battle data and emotions, starting a day-to-day life with Ao, who knows nothing about Frame Arms Girls.

A Chaos Pearl, birthed from primordial essences, began to siphon energies gluttonously. Tianzun dispatched his disciples Taiyi Zhenren, a portly Taoist immortal riding on a flying pig steed and Shen Gongbao to subdue the sentient pearl. Eventually Yuanshi Tianzun contains the Chaos Pearl in his heavenly stove, separating the pearl into two opposite components: the Spirit Pearl and the Demon Orb. Tianzun places a heavenly curse upon the Demon Orb: in three years time it will be destroyed by a powerful lightning strike. Tianzun then instructs Taiyi to take the Spirit Pearl to be reincarnated as the third son of Li Jing, to be named Ne Zha.

Shen conspires to steal the Spirit Pearl and in the ensuing battle, the Demon Orb is placed on the ritual altar instead, causing Li Jing's pregnant wife Lady Yin to give birth to a child, Ne Zha, whose demonic nature is apparent.

Meanwhile, it is revealed that Shen stole the Spirit Pearl for the Dragon King to reincarnate as his son, Ao Bing. The dragons resent their role as jailers of the Heavenly Court and being confined to a hellish existence on the ocean floor. It is hoped that through the blessed nature of a son born from the Spirit Pearl that dragon kind would be deemed worthy by Heaven, allowing the dragons to ascend.
