Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she's forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it's already night, in a place she has never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. Together they gather around a crackling fire to warm themselves up, absorbed with the quiet of their lakeside spot. As they slurp on curry noodles cooked on an open flame, the moment they're waiting for eventually comes.

"Look... Mount Fuji."

This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.

Shima Rin has left her hometown in Yamanashi to live on her own in Nagoya while working for a small publishing company there. On one winter’s weekend in the not-too-distant future, as she’s planning a bike tour, she unexpectedly receives a message from an old high school friend, Ohgaki Chiaki, saying she’s currently in Nagoya. Chiaki now works for an organization promoting tourism in Yamanashi, and she’s in charge of a project to reopen a facility that was closed a few years ago. When Rin casually suggests that such a large property would make a good campground, Chiaki is inspired. She gathers up all of their old camping buddies—Kagamihara Nadeshiko, who works at an outdoor goods store in Tokyo; Inuyama Aoi, who’s now an elementary school teacher in their hometown of Yamanashi; and Saitou Ena, who works at a dog grooming salon in Yokohama—and the campground-opening project is set in motion. So the story of five outdoorsy girls who became friends thanks to their shared love of camping begins once more, taking on a new challenge with the knowledge and experience they’ve gained.

Yuuta Hoshiya enters Ayana Academy, a school focusing on show business activities, specifically music. The academy has a group of the three students with the highest grades in the musical department, and they are known as the Kao Kai (Cherry Blossom Flower Association). This organization stands at the top of the pecking order within the academy. The shortcut to entering the musical department is to enter the Star Frame class, which is directly taught by the members, and to be recognized by them. Unfortunately, due to their own problems, students Touru, Kaito, Shou, Shuu, and Yuuta are all struggling to even remain candidates for the musical department. By a stroke of luck, however, the five are spotted by Kao Kai member Outori, and they pique his interest.

"I don't know how to give up on a dream..."

In pursuit of a high school student he admired, Yuta Hoshitani enrolled in the musical department of the prestigious music school Ayanagi Academy. He successfully completed the year-long enrollment test and, in his second year, finally became a student of the musical department... but a new trial awaited him right from the start of the new year!

First on the curriculum for second-year students is to act as support in the commemorative graduation performance put on by Otori and the other graduates. The traditional program, "Shadow & Lights," includes five roles created specifically for training second-years, so each year a team of five second-years has a chance to participate. It's a very coveted role among students of the musical department, as well as a chance to perform alongside the former leaders they admire.

Hoshitani and the rest of the 25 new students in the musical department are about to enter the audition for these second-year training roles, with their ticket to glory on the line!
